Pet Friendly Cottage Breaks

Most hotels and cottages take into account your comforts and what you want to do while on holiday. However, they don’t make provisions for your ‘four legged’ family member, that often gets left behind at home. Your pet would love a change in environment. So this holiday, why don’t you take your pet along? Thankfully, there are cottage owners in UK that have recognized this need and have opened up their accommodations to pets. This is good because your pet won’t be welcome at most plush hotels. So it helps to find a place that welcomes your friend just as much as you do.

Pet paradise

To your pet, being with you and the family may be a treat in itself. However, accommodations can also help in this regard. When looking for ideal cottages choose one that has ample space. No pet likes to be cramped up in a small room or balcony. They need to have the freedom to stretch their legs a bit and get some exercise. Your city dog will especially love the fresh air and open lawn. A farm would be a good option to explore. Speaking of farms, in East England there is the Dairy Farm located in North Walsham, Norfolk. With over 100 acres of land (both marsh and field) this expanse is a pure delight especially if you like open spaces. The farm has farm animals in restricted areas and cottages found here are comfortable and clean. At the end of the day, your pets will come home tired and with a nose full of memories.

Not just for people

Wales is a perfect holiday destination. It has a bit of everything in it. Open spaces, beaches and mountains- what more could you ask for. Rent a cottage near a castle ruin and your pet will have a wonderful time exploring the area. The Old Tower House in Barmouth, Gwynedd may be a great idea in this regard. This Welch cottage is a wonderful choice, not only for the pet, but for you as well. There’s a great golf course near by.

If your pet would rather run on the beach against the win, then this venue is perfect as it has miles of fine sandy beach just steps away. Further the Snowdonia National Park is just a quick trip away. Your dog can tag along for a walk or a quick trek. There’s nothing better that seeing a dog discover snow for the first time. If this thrills your heart and seems exciting then, pack up for a winter holiday. You can enjoy the skiing while your dog experiments with snow.

Historic walks

Your holiday need not be limited to rural locations. Toward the South of England there are numerous cottages that permit pets in historic trust area. It would be wise to first check with the trust officials if you can bring your pet along. The trust area has an array of walking trails that will make any dog or pet happy.

Several of the cottages available are reminiscent of farms after being converted from working structures to modern accommodations. Each has an updated kitchen and heating with plenty of room outside for a game of cat
