The shingle beach at Sandwich Bay lies 2 miles away and many nearby historic sites including Richborough Roman fort and amphitheatre and the fascinating castles at Deal Walmer and Dover are in the care of English Heritage. The White Cliffs of Dover (10 miles) enjoy worldwide fame and day trips to Europe are easily accessible.
