Situated between the North Yorkshire Moors and Wolds with the York Wolds Way running through the village it is ideally placed for visitors who enjoy walking cycling or pony trekking.
Both Scarborough's traditional seaside attractions and Filey's sandy beaches are about 8 miles away whilst the fascinating old harbour town of Whitby picturesque Robin Hood's Bay and the resort of Bridlington are all within easy reach and the historic city of York with its minster museums and great shopping is only a 30 minute drive. A dining pub and restaurant are a 200 yard stroll there is a shop 2 miles away and more extensive shopping in Crossgates 7 miles away.
Our Opinion of Barley Cottage
This gorgeous cottage has a wonderful rural location with easy access to the North Yorkshire Moors and Wolds. We think anyone who enjoys outdoor activities will love it here as the area has lots of cycle paths and walking trails. For families the delights of seaside resorts such as Scarborough are just a short drive away.
