Walking along forest trails and the Southern Upland Way Water of Trool (pictured) cycle tracks bird watching and nature reserves lie virtually on the doorstep whilst the town of Newton Stewart (10 miles) offers golf 4 x 4 driving pony trekking cycle hire and fishing. The village boasts an excellent pub that serves good food and welcomes children and there is a small shop on the caravan park nearby (March–September).
